4 incorrect assumptions about online business

What's wrong with online business? phenomenon that I found during the study and to pursue an online business so much. I'll give a little to you about this mysterious myth. Here are some incorrect assumptions about online business, at least according to my personal

1. Online Business = Rich Fast

If you also think so, Throw away the idea that Online Business = Rich Fast now ! That's garbage thinking that ultimately will make you not so serious. If a business online = rich fast, I'm sure the people who wrestle IM (Internet Marketing) are all getting rich so fast.

But the fact is not so! Internet marketing is not as easy as you think. It is not logical if the formula is true: = online business get rich fast. The reason is very simple, online business is just like a conventional business (business in the real life) in general. It's just that the media used by internet marketing is done online via the internet. So STOP thinking that online business = rich fast, because after all it really depends on the efforts and hard work we do.

Online businesses should be treated the same way you do business in real life. That certainly will not be apart from the capital (in money, effort, mind and times), business, business management and marketing (promotion). And the important thing is to run in earnest, diligent, patient, serious, and never give up.

So is not it? Online business even so, it takes effort and take REAL ACTION!

Not just a dream to be rich but no action at all ... it's the same with a BIG ZERO! So actually it is natural if there who think online businesses are very close to fraud. And not a few too many people who try and go backwards. For this reason, he was frustrated because the results are not as expected.

Discard dreams can get rich quick, think of internet marketing is a business that you live like you're opening a store (business in the real life). Which, of course, requires capital, action, effort, passion, and spirit. I personally consider more online business is another way to make money is abundant. Not to get rich fast! Once again please note, an online business that takes real action, it takes time, study and practice.

2. Assuming anyone can get rich with an online business

With very sure I dare to say to the perception of the above is NOT TRUE! Why ...? If you do business online, and online time you use was limited to browsing, chatting and just learn alone is tantamount to there will be no money would you get. However, if you can take advantage of everything on the internet to promote an online business you run is another matter. Do not be naive thinking of doing business online, there will be no customers who will see you without you introduce yourself to them.

All you have to do but it is, keep working. Do what you can today and keep learning. Learning is important, but whatever information and knowledge you gain will not be useful at all without your practice.

Well, still think online businesses can do all those?

The truth is that online business is only for people willing to learn, work hard and take action. One thing you should appreciate is TIME. Indeed, sometimes nothing works in a short time, but it is the fruit of their own hard work. Successful in online business is never side with the people who half-heartedly, and it proved more a failure than a success.

Appreciate the time and be patient, because your ability will be tested by time. How can you keep the spirit, will increasingly bring you in the right direction for success in online business

3. Consider Internet marketing is very complicated.

Frankly, if you say it is complicated, it is "yes". However, if said to be very complicated, "not well".

Why? These questions all come back on ourselves. It depends on the seriousness you live it. All started from ignorance, so that motivates many people to learn, learn and keep learning.

And learning is not enough, you have to practice it and started trying to do so directly. There are many things we encounter in doing internet marketing, and it will test your spirit. How can you be able to face challenges and obstacles?

Throw away the idea that internet marketing is something very, very complicated. In fact this is so, but nothing is impossible, as long as we try and believe, must be .... Take action on anything is needed, including an online business.

Nothing complicated if we want to spend a little time to open up insights about things that we think it is complicated. We can learn, we can find out. So, do not worry .... Do not be scared by that name is wrong or fails.

4. Consider an online business it's free and result Abundant

Point one is still embedded in many online business beginner. However, a surprising pattern like that always think the last long until they are able to realize it.

All you have to remember, that free actually do exist. But the results are not going for what you want. Which games were still require capital. You are still required to work harder. And the average of the results are not for free rather than in need of capital (paid). Any free ones require you to be online much longer, and the process is too difficult anda taking longer time needed, rather than profit and loss instead. Both wasted time and other things that will hit you in the future.

Although not all of them, because whatever it is fixed return on your hard work. When you think business, you should already know that. This can be likened your work to others, and of course the result will not be maximal.

From now on do not you scared out of capital, as long as you want to succeed. Convince yourself, success was greater on the side of those who dare to invest, not just effort and hard work.

4 incorrect assumptions about online business above, I think you can ponder how vital to us as an online business. Writing this has been through a long journey, so I dared to think so. At least that's what I feel, if you think you have another idea would be so I would expect the input and enhancements to member responses to this article.

Greetings success ...

Tips on Marketing Via the SEO Articles

With the advancement of the e-commerce and also the internet marketing and article marketing the profession of ghostwriting has turned really popular of the online professions. For the conventional forms of the media, the form of marketing articles online disburses the publishers with the amounts required to make valuable and efficient advertisement.

The website in which an author is able to publish an article free of cost is usually termed as the article directory. The principal reason behind the author being able to publish articles free of cost is the fact that the owner of the website directory publicizes on almost every single content page and thence accumulates the revenue that's generated by means of the advertising. Article directory website gradually enhances its very own search engine popularity with the enhancement in the quantity of the articles that's published, providing benefits to both the writer and the directory owner by managing them the biggest number of aimed visitors.

However, pretty unlike the offline mode, few more dimensions are newly found in case of the online article marketing. Of them the most noteworthy distinction is the use of the content for the purpose of SEO or elaborately Search Engine Optimization. An article ghostwriter predominantly writes content basing on some targeted keywords which varies with niche.

Then again the article ghost writers can inform the client for the content personalized to their niche. The ghostwriter can make aims to bring in a specific group of audience with the required information content that is having the ability to appeal the aimed readers.

A lot of the non-amateur SEO based content ghostwriter's disburse offers on economic article marketing. Consequently the clients seldom hire the non-amateur article ghostwriter's with a view to write down hundreds and seldom thousands of materials. Some of these SEO ghostwriter's experienced of writing more than 1000's of articles for clients.

Those who tend to hire the high quality SEO ghostwriter's often feel the excitement and benefits of the overflowing backlinks. Whenever the things are offered via the RSS, then and there the massive exposure to the business field and no. of backlinks turns greater in number.

One more option offered to the marketing via articles, that the author might select in order to take total power of, is the advertisement space available on the pages where you get to publish your very own article.

With the availability of this particular option, the authors or the article ghostwriting clients manages themselves the chances of advertising through the Google AdWords, surplus to selling their very own relevant products and the services.

5 Marketing Mistakes And How to fix it

In fact, almost all businesses actually able to increase the clappers. That if they want to correct some mistakes. Especially in how to build a good marketing strategy.

Keep your attention to this 5 (five) kinds of mistakes in marketing management :

1. Does not have a uniqueness that distinguishes itself from competitors.

Why should it unique? And uniqueness of what is meant?

Uniqueness is a characteristic that will be a special attraction for consumers. This characteristic can be a cheaper price, without compromising the quality of course.

Or it could be in terms of service. For example give a longer warranty period than usual, and others. Or it could also provide various, bonuses, gifts, souvenirs and so forth.

The uniqueness is needed to make consumers feel lucky, get more, and can directly differentiate from its competitors. Uniqueness that will make consumers feel getting more than the price paid.

Uniqueness is not only beneficial to the business owner himself, but also for consumers.

2. Not prepare a strategy to make advanced bidding.

We already have a main product, is very important to find other products are also related. Then prepare to be a subsequent offering.

This example, let's say your product is textbook. But why stop there? Why not prepare other products related? For example learning equipment, courses, private tutor, and others.

By preparing a strategy to offer advanced, means to give you the opportunity to get additional revenue. Many business people do not realize the importance of this strategy. And just focus on selling the main product only.
Though often happens, the next bidding  more profitable. For example, a photographer who charges 10 grand for a photo. But after that, she offered to decorate picture frames.

We found a lot of internet marketers who want to provide free ebook on the internet. Though they are adequately qualified ebook, and definitely sold if sold. At that time, they did not ask for compensation in the form of money, but only an email address. Why?

Because, by providing an email address, then you have permitted them to conduct follow-up bargains.

Initial follow-up is vital to every business. If you limit yourself to only one sale, then you will lose many opportunities.

In the internet marketing world this is known also as the need for internet marketing strategies.

3. Failed to provide confidence and ease

Not surprisingly, we see many companies that have not been realized how important it is to give confidence and the impression that doing business with them is easy, maybe even enjoyable.

Why would they want to make things difficult?

Really every businessman to realize that they will lose customers if the customers feel frustrated or dissatisfied?

Is it true that consumer satisfaction is the main thing? Do not let this happen to your business.  Internet marketing services, you always make it feasible as a main point in running your online business marketing.

Here are some tips that will make consumers become easy and sure to do business with you:

• When consumers call. The way you answer or serve is vital. This is an opportunity to introduce ourselves. If the customer gets an unpleasant impression, maybe you will lose the opportunity for profit.

• Smile, and the whole world will smile with you. A smile will make it easy for consumers to do business with you. No one who thinks that a smile is just a marketing tool, because the essence of a smile more than just ethics and decency. A smile will make consumers feel happy and appreciated.

• Provide fast service. Time is important for consumers. They do not want anyone to take it. It would look very unprofessional if you let customers wait too long.

4. Failed to find out what the consumers want.

Very ironic that many business people who may be due less to master marketing, does not provide enough time to find out for sure, what the consumers want and in need.

They just want their products sold. By assuming that the product is certainly desirable. But it was not the underlying assumption of facts. And while no one would buy, they blame so many things.

Excessive self-confidence, without the underlying knowledge and marketing capabilities, will lead to arrogance and blind belief.

There is no other way for marketers to know what they want, except to make time to do it.

If you want other people to do business with you, then you should be able to fulfill the desire for the following things:

• Quality is better.
• The services faster.
• Prices were cheaper.
• Confidence to quality.
• All the things that make life so much easier.
• Products that can make them look better.
• Items that can be used repeatedly.
• Products that last longer.
• Something that produces solutions.
• The things that work more effectively.
• The things that make life so much fun.
• The things that give more benefits.

5. Failed in giving a reason.

We offer the products or services, whether through media or directly, always include the reason. Tell them the clear identification on you, your business, your company, your products or your services.

Give a reason related to the price. If cheaper, how can it be? Is it because the cost of production? Delivery? Or if more expensive, why? Is it because of its quality? Materials? How to workmanship? Or whatever it is, you should prepare a clear description.

Tell them why they should buy from you. Make a compelling reason, can be trusted, actual, and honest. Explain why they should entrust their money to you.

To the five points above very positive to be applied to your business, especially for those of you who seriously on the path to go through internet marketing. Hopefully you can become a successful internet marketing specialist.

Aggressive Marketing is ...

If you get an email with a title like 'Don't Ever Trust Me Again!' and continues along the lines of '... then you don't have to take my advice ever again!'

My advice is – Don't *

Perhaps it's because I'm skeptical of the number of "miracle" products, "great deals", 'limited time offers' or 'incredible packages' that are advertised online every day. Perhaps it's because I have bought more products than I can possibly use for now. Perhaps it's because there are probably more people trying to sell this particular package than the number of packages that are available. Or, perhaps it's because I received an email with almost identical content from too many different sources. Whatever the reason, don't make the same mistakes as I have in the past.

* It may be a good deal. It may be exactly what you are looking for. But if you receive emails with exactly the same content from different sources, think carefully before you buy. There are some good internet marketers that I have every respect for. However, there are an increasing number of 'marketers' that show little thought or consideration for others. They will take from you but offer nothing in return. You may disagree with the last statement. If you buy a product from them and you are happy with that product and they are happy with the money earned from selling you that product it's a win-win situation.

That's all well and good until you look more closely at the process. To do this, other factors must be taken into account. These include cost, value, convenience, time, and most importantly trust. You've probably heard of the phrase. "The money is in the list". I wouldn't disagree with that and it's easy to see why many of the "big list" hitters are successful in the percentage game. But unless they offer you something more than somebody else's 'sales pitch' ignore them. Many of these people come and go. Make sure they don't go with your money.

With regard to the email in question, here is a quote from a 'trusted' ezine that I subscribe to "This is only of interest to you, Bryan, if you really need some brand new products to sell. If not, don't bother." At least, this is honest and straight to the point. I know who I'd buy from. On occasion, time may be more important than trust. If this is the case, then make sure you have a use for the product before you buy it. We are all guilty of impulse buying. It can be all too easy to buy something that will seldom, if ever, be used.

If you subscribe to an ezine or newsletter, it's often useful to keep tabs on the sender. By doing this you will learn to recognize if the content is original or simply a copy of someone else's work. You'll also quickly discover if the sender is only interested in using you as a means of earning a 'fast buck'. This is obvious if there is little or no content, excessive affiliate URLs, or emails that are repetitive or delivered more often than necessary.

If you like the newsletter or email subscription, that's great. If you don't, you can usually 'unsubscribe'. If this fails, then try 'whitelist' filtering to weed it out. If you think the email is from a spammer, then be careful. Don't click on any URL or 'unsubscribe' option, and unless you are absolutely sure of the originator, never open an attachment.

If you use eBay or PayPal, you will no doubt be aware of the fake or spoof emails that are periodically blasted out. Well, the spin cycle has begun again. A good tutorial on spoof emails and how to recognize them can be found at http://pages.ebay.com/education/spooftutorial/index.html

Tip – If you have your own website, don't use your default address for your PayPal or eBay account. Use a different address and you will quickly spot the spoof email in the 'To' line of the email.

4 Tips To Build Traffic For Your Blog

Bloggers blog. That’s what they do. A blog is short for ‘weblog’ and it’s really an online journal that can be updated easily and frequently without any knowledge of HTML code.

Traditionally, article marketing has been used by authors who are promoting their books or information products. Lately, I’ve noticed a growing trend of bloggers using article marketing to grow the traffic to their blog and you should too.

Three reasons why it makes sense for bloggers to engage in article marketing:

1) You’ve already got a lot of content produced in each of your blog posts. 200 words should be your floor for each article that you produce. In some cases, you already have enough words per post to create 10-50 articles instantly. If you don’t, then stitch posts together of a similar theme until you have 200+ word articles to put into article marketing distribution.

2) A blogger has the same traffic building problems that any typical website has, and therefore article marketing can help your blog in the same ways it can help a non-blog website. Benefits include qualified traffic coming to your site year round, quality backlinks being built without any messy recip-linking campaigns, and you’re expanding your reach to other experts that might not otherwise have found your blog.

3) Bloggers by nature are more Internet savvy than your typical author. With this said, most bloggers already understand how to create revenue with pay per click (PPC) advertising programs. As such, you already know how to produce keyword intelligent titles for their articles. This guarantees maximum traffic impact for each of your articles.

If you are already a blogger and are new to article marketing, here’s how you get started:

1) Produce a cache of 10-25+ articles from your existing blog content.

2) Submit them to the major article directories and any that are niche-relevant to your field of expertise. You may also wish to submit them to ezine publishers directly from your niche.

3) Rinse and repeat until you have 250-1,000+ articles in distribution this year. Hire a college student or editor if you don’t have time to get this strategy into practice as it’ll be well worth it.

4) Watch your traffic counter slowly rise, day by day as your articles work hard for you delivering qualified traffic to your website year round.

Article Marketing as a strategy will not break your traffic counter on your first month of investing in this strategy…but, I guarantee if you engage in this strategy, your blog will grow in traffic and popularity beyond the traffic you were already creating by simply blogging. You knows, you might even increase your sales, land a new job, or improve your rank in the search engines as a side-benefit from your article marketing strategy.

How Branding Helps Your Marketing Strategy

Branding by definition is the act of stigmatizing. In other words, it is a procedure done to establish a character that best fits the object you are promoting. In a person’s case, it can be an expertise, talent or skills that he or she possesses while in a product, it can be a logo, design or symbol. The most famous branding tactic for product promotion is the use of popular, celebrity endorsers.

Basically, branding involves delivering what the product is all about, hitting your target market right on the spot, and convincing the buyer to pay for the brand. Branding is a very important element in your marketing strategy.

This is because through branding, you’ll be able to plan your marketing tactics very well. Proper branding will enable your marketing strategy to be laser-focused to what the product is originally intended for. Your marketing strategy will then evolve around the already established brand.

Experts also believe that branding is what makes your marketing efforts stickier than most. When you are able to properly brand your product, it will be noted by your market and they will surely remember when your product is needed. Furthermore, branding has been found out to be helpful when you are trying to build trust. It also helps in building a community of loyal consumers as your branding efforts progress.

In fact, according to surveys, consumers are now more likely to trust branding efforts than blatant advertising and marketing strategies. Consumers find branding efforts as transparency, honesty and somewhat dignified whereas marketing is considered to be very tricky and misleading most of the time. This is why most marketing gurus opt to use branding as the way to go when trying to market a product or services.

Affiliate Marketing vs. Google Adsense: Let the Battle Begin

Lately there has been a lot of discussion on how to make tons of money with Google Adsense. In fact, many people are making the claim that Adsense sites can earn a higher revenue then an affiliate-marketing site.

So that brings us to an important question: Which is a better online business – Affiliate-Marketing sites or Google Adsense sites?

Let's explore each one and then find out which online business is better option:

Google Adsense

How do you like the idea of earning m*ney without dealing with customers or answering emails. This is possible when you run a Google Adsense site. With Adsense sites, you can have a virtual passive-income that requires little maintaining. But is this the best option for an online business?

Here are the positives of Google Adsense sites:

They are perfect for people who run information sites that have no related affiliate product
You can set it and leave it. With Google Adsense, you can create a content page, and there is little need to update the content.

Adsense sites are easy to scale. Since they require little upkeep, you can easily create multiple websites that each make a nice income.

Here are the negatives of Google Adsense sites:

They are not a great long term solution. Instead of getting your visitors to subscribe to a mailing list, you are focusing on getting people to click on ads. Real online businesses concentrate on building assets that can use for long-term growth.

These sites are dependent on search engines. Most Google Adsense sites make the mistake of depending on search engines for the majority of their traffic. If the SE algorithms change then your income might drop significantly.

Affiliate Marketing

Being an affiliate marketer is great for those who want build a theme site. With this type of business, you can easily create web pages around a topic and get people to buy products through your products. If done correctly, you can easily build a loyal following that will help you make money for years to come.

But can affiliate marketing make you more money then Google Adsense?

Here are the positives of affiliate marketing:

A great advantage of affiliate-marketing is that you can build a long term business that will bring in a revenue stream for years.

With affiliate-marketers you need to focus on building an email list. This list is a major asset of your business. Every time you have an offer, you can go to your list and increase your profits..

Unlike Google Adsense sites, which only concentrates on high paying keywords, an affiliate marketing site can be centered on a topic that you have an interest in.

Here are the negatives of affiliate marketing:

You have to learn how to write persuasively and get people to purchase the product that you are recommending. For many people this is a difficult skill to learn.

Each affiliate marketing site requires a lot of effort. You must spend a lot of time writing product reviews, building your email list and creating web content.

So which is better: Affiliate marketing or Google Adsense?

The answer is that both are great solutions for an online business. Instead of choosing one over the other, you should create websites that can take advantage of both.

Here is how you can do this:
  1. Create a content site on a topic that you are interest in, while paying a good amount per Adsense click.
  2. Integrate your Adsense into the menu bars and the top of your web content.
  3. Add web pages for affiliate-products and your opt-in email list. But, make sure that you leave out the Adsense blocks on these pages. This way you are ensuring that you are building your long-term assets.
  4. Create optimized web page articles that focus on a specific keyword phrase. Place your Google Adsense in these blocks.
  5. Provide your email list with good content and product recommendations. Once in awhile, email your list and provide a link to some of your web articles. That way, you can earn a little bit of m*ney from your subscribers while giving them good content.
By focusing on both affiliate products and Google Adsense, you will be building both short-term and long-term profits.

Small Business Blog Marketing - 5 Essential Tips

If you own a small business, chances are that you are most likely very familiar with the "feast or famine" cycle of small business, where there's either too much work going on for you to manage it successfully, or not enough business coming in through the door.

If your business seems to be affected by the "feast or famine" cycle, then I want to show you a smart, simple, easy, quick and inexpensive way to start alleviating this condition.

It's called blogging.

Basically, you start a business blog, then write about your business and publish the information online through your blog.

Let me explain why this is a very smart thing to do, and how it can help you ride the ups and downs of small business economic cycles.

First of all, starting a business blog is simpler, quicker, cheaper and easier to do than setting up a small business web site. In a moment, I'll share with you some valuable business blogging tips you will want to know about when starting your own business blog.

Secondly, by adding regular content to your blog that educates people about the benefits of your business, products and services, you will not only create more trust and authority with potential customers online when they visit your blog, but you will also increase visibility and exposure for your business in your particular market sector.

So ... how will this help you successfully manage the "feast or famine" cycles that most small business owners experience?

Well, in times of "feast", you can simply refer people to relevant posts you have made on your blog that provide them with the information they are looking for. Every business owner is familiar with the sometimes frustrating experience of having their valuable time taken up with the same explanations of how, why, what, when and where certain aspects of their business are done.

Rather than spend 30-45 minutes or more reiterating the same thing over and over again to luke-warm prospects, why not write an article about it and post it to your blog? Then, the next time someone calls you and asks you to explain this very same thing, rather than waste an hour of your or your staff's time, just ask them for their email address and send them a link to your blog page where you have posted this information.

Your prospect can then research the subject in their own time and call you back when they are ready to move to the next step.

Now ... if, in your blog you have set up a way for people to opt-in to a database (e.g. a newsletter subscription form, or special report), then you have already taken a vital step towards ensuring that your business can survive in times of famine. When work slows down, you can contact your list subscribers with a special offer, or information about products or services they may want to consider buying from you.

By integrating small business blog marketing into your regular business activities, you will be providing genuine service to those you cannot service immediately, as well as creating a prospecting pipeline for leaner times.

Five Essential Small Business Blog Marketing Tips

Small Business Blog Marketing Tip #1 - Host Your Business Blog On Your Own Domain

Although many small businesses set up their business blog on blogging platforms that offer free hosting, this can be a costly mistake in the long run. It also indicates that the business owner is not aware of what a valuable business asset a business blog can be.

By setting up a blog on your own domain name, you are ensuring that all traffic, content and links pointing back to your content pages are growing the value of your web property and not someone else's, and also that they won't suddenly disappear if, for, example, you decide to take your business to the next level and change blogging platforms or switch hosting providers.

Small Business Blog Marketing Tip #2 - Set Up Your Business Blog Using A WordPress Blog

WordPress provides an ideal business blogging platform (hosted on your own domain name, of course). Wordpress is free, and supports an active community of plugin developers and professional designers who have created thousands of plugins that can add incredible functionality and powerful flexibility to your blog, as well as thousands of professional themes you can use to completely change the look and feel of your business blog. Best of all, most WordPress themes and plugins can be downloaded at no cost, and customized for your own business use in many instances.

Small Business Blog Marketing Tip #3 - Automate Your Business Blog Marketing SEO And Search Engine Indexing Functions

Although a WordPress blog is quite easy to install and set up, the default installation is very basic and lacks most of the functionality you need to ensure that your content is automatically optimized for ranking better than your competition in the search engines, as well as getting quickly indexed and added to the search results of all the major search engines and blog directories.

This is by no means a "negative", as WordPress allows you to quickly add all of this functionality by simply installing and activating certain plugins. All you need to do is spend a little time learning which plugins work best together to deliver this important automation to your blog.

Small Business Blog Marketing Tip #4 - Add New Content Regularly To Your Business Blog

Every small business owner I have ever met carries an amazing amount of information in their brains about their business, their industry, expert tips on buying, installing and using their products and services, benefits and features, comparison data on competitor products and services, etc ...

In fact, there is no shortage of information to provide potential new customers with. Many small business owners, however, don't fully understand how much leverage they can generate for their business by turning this information into short informative articles, announcements, interesting posts, news releases, answers to faqs, etc ... that can attract the attention of people searching online for specific solutions that you can help deliver, educate and engage prospective customers, and funnel visitors into a process that delivers not only great value and service every step of the way, but that can ultimately lead to new customers and new sales of your products and services.

Having a simple plan to add 2-3 articles per week to your business blog can lead to amazing results. As I have just stated, there is no shortage of information when it comes to coming up with ideas to write about your business. If you commit to investing as little as 20 - 30 minutes a day to business blog marketing activities, you can transform your business quite rapidly.

Divide your business blogging time as follows:

- Spend 40% of your time researching topics to write about. Start an ideas file and add to it every day - even just the title of a blog post will do.
- Spend 40% of your time writing your article. Open up a simple notepad text file and just write on a topic the same way as you would if you were explaining something to a prospect one-on-one. Keep the style conversational, use your own voice and don't worry about editing anything until you finish writing at least 500 - 700 words (4-5 short paragraphs)
- Spend 20% of your time editing and proofing what you have written, then publish it. You can always easily edit your post later if you need to add, modify or delete sections of your post.

Using the above business blogging time schedule, if you invest just twenty minutes a day, five days a week into publishing a business blog, you will spend a total of 40 minutes researching (e.g. reading other blogs for topics and ideas), 40 minutes writing your post(s), and 20 minutes editing and proofing your article.

This is enough time to add one or three new posts every week or so, and start growing your business online. Keep this commitment for one whole month to get the blogging habit and do this for three months before evaluating your performance and your results. I guarantee you will be more than pleasantly surprised!

Small Business Blog Marketing Tip #5 - Use Your Business Blog Performance Data To Improve Your Business Results

As a small business blog marketer, your goal is to deliver content that will attract new visitors to your site, engage and build trust with your readers, and then direct them to areas of your site where they can either get more information about the benefits of using your products and services, contact you for the next step, or place an order once they have made a decision to buy.

Setting up a simple information system that tracks where visitors to your blog are coming from, what keywords and phrases they are typing into search engines and other sites to find you, how long they stay on your blog when they visit and which pages they visit the most when they are browsing through your blog can all provide valuable information that you can then use to improve your business, deliver better customer service ... even uncover a demand for new products and services.

I hope you have found this information useful and I wish you great business blogging success.

10 Tips For Creating a Brilliant Landing Page

Building a great landing page should be on top of your priority list if you want your website visitors transformed into customers.

While a great looking website can grab the attention of your visitors, a strong landing page will keep them involved and get them to buy your products/services.

Wikipedia defines a landing page as:

The page that appears when a potential customer clicks on an advertisement or a search-engine result link. The page will usually display content that is a logical extension of the advertisement or link, and that is optimized to feature specific keywords or phrases for indexing by search engines.

Wikipedia's definition sums it up nicely but there is certainly more to a great landing page then relevant and keyword rich content. Here are 10 things that you should be looking at when optimizing a landing page:

- Relevant Content

A landing page's content should be directly related to organic search results, PPC campaign, anchor text in inbound links and any other targeted inbound advertising, online and offline. If people don't get what they expect, they will be more likely to leave.

- Multiple Landing Pages

A landing page shouldn't necessarily be your homepage. In many instances a homepage is a good landing page. However, for more targeted traffíc and better results, you want a landing page to be focused on a specific offering and specific call for action. To accomplish this, a given website should have multiple landing pages. Create some deep link landing pages that will focus on a specific proposition and your conversion rate will be higher.

- Focus on Functionality

More and more visitors seem to judge the professionalism and credibility of a site by its design. To satisfy this, many website owners concentrate on the design aspect instead of focusing on its functionality. A well-designed landing page is essentially worthless if the prospect can't accomplish anything. While I wouldn't suggest skimping on the design, it shouldn't be your priority. Focus on the exact steps you want your visitor to take and design a page with that in mind.

- Call To Action

You got visitors to your landing page, now direct them to take action. Make it clear and highly noticeable without overwhelming your audience. Whether it's a sign-up form or a "buy now" button, make it the focus of your page.

- Send a Clear Message

Keep your landing page clean and clutter free so your visitors stay focused on your message. Emphasize the biggest reasons that they should carry out the applicable call to action with larger text, contrasting colors, images. Make it easier for them to scan the content by using lists and getting right to the point.

- Provide Incentive

Bribing your visitors with freebies and samples is a proven method of enticing them to sign up. Provide more than your competition but don't sell yourself short either. Provide a list of reasons why your offering is better and what exactly the visitor can expect. Provide references and testimonials.

- Make Visitors Stay

Avoid sending your visitors to another page unless it is absolutely necessary. That includes any internal navigation as well as external banners. If you eliminate all distractions and limit navigation options, you stand a better chance of keeping your visitors around.

- Simple is Better

Make it easy for your visitors to complete the action you want them to. Less confusion and decision making for your visitor means better conversions rate for your landing page. Don't provide multiple choices and throw in optional extras. Focus on the pitch the page was created for.

- Power of Freebies

Everyone likes free offers. They are hard to resist and can be a powerful conversion tool. Whether a call to action is free or something free is receíved as a result of carrying out a call to action, it certainly doesn't hurt. If your competition charges for something and you provide it for free, you'll win the customer. Remember, just because you make a free offer doesn't mean that it shouldn't be quality.
Want to Sell Advertising on Your Website? Learn From the Experts!

- Testing

In a recent post "How to Turn Website Visitors into Buyers" (by joanna Colek), I've stressed how important testing is in finding out what your visitors like. Testing various text, call to action forms, layouts will give you a true idea what produces the best results as far as conversion.

Using a tool like Google's Website Optimizer you can easily monitor the conversion rate, bounce rate, and tons of other useful metrics found in most modern day web analytics apps. Using these metrics you can easily figure out which version will be your optimal page, one that maximizes the results.

Creating a successful and effective landing page takes a lot of work but should be the focus for anyone involved with a website. Whether you are a website owner, web designer, web developer or a web marketing specialist you must be aware of the components that comprise a solid landing page. After all this can mean a website's success or failure.

How to Market Your Business on a Tight Budget

I'm sure every marketer has asked this question at one time or another. There are many creative ways to make your presence visible without spending a penny. Following are tips on how to market your business on a tight budget. No need to lose your shirt on costly ads.

Social Media Make your presence known on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Linked-in etc. You can meet people by joining groups related to your industry. Interact and build relationships with people that may be interested in your product or service. Bring value by posting helpful tips and offering free bonuses. Social media is a great way to get free publicity and build your customer base.

Article Marketing Write articles offering tips in your field of expertise. If you are stuck on ideas, ask yourself what the ten most frequently asked questions in your business are. Answer each question in an article and you have ten articles. Post them on free sites like Amazines.com, GoArticles.com and Ezinearticles.com. Send your readers to your website or landing page for further information. Post your articles to your social media sites.

Videos Another great way how to market your business on a tight budget is to create videos and post them on YouTube and other video sites. A great time saving tip is to create videos using the same topics as your articles. Post your videos to your social medial sites.

Affiliate Programs There are an endless number of businesses that offer affiliate programs. Basically they pay you to promote their product on your website, via e-mail, etc. These businesses will pay you for clicks, leads or sales. Research programs that relate to your industry and offer generous commissions. Find a hot product, post to your sites and use these commissions to fund your paid advertising!

Blogging Create a blog and direct people from your social media sites to it. Here they'll get to know more about you and learn more about what you offer. This is where you can also place your articles, videos, specials, affiliate links, etc. and enter daily blog posts.

E-mail Use an autorepsonder e-mail service to capture your customers contact information. I recommend Aweber and it only costs about $20/mo. but is well worth it. Send broadcast e-mails to your list, such as helpful tips, your blog posts, articles, videos, special offers and promotions, etc.

Although more time consuming than paid advertising, this system can move your business to the next level. Any of these advertising methods on their own are great but combined are a powerful. This is how to market your business on a tight budget without breaking the bank.

Top 10 Marketing Tips!

For over a decade, I have been helping small and medium sized businesses, network marketers and entrepreneurs to make massively more sales than ever before.

Here are my Top 10 Marketing Tips - which anyone can use to achieve their best sales results ever!

1. Throw that old marketing guide in the bin

If you want to avoid wasting stacks of money and missing countless sales opportunities, throw your old marketing guides and audio programs in the recycling bin!

You need to know what works today; where even the smallest business can advertise itself to millions online for less than the cost of a one-off trade journal advert - AND - where you can mail a million potential clients in a few hours for just pennies.

2. Email marketing - start using email marketing NOW!

It’s a fact; email marketing is extremely cost effective and perhaps the single most powerful marketing tool available to small businesses. This is because it provides predictable results and costs little or nothing to use!

Here are just a few things for you to consider, before you start using email marketing.

First off, I strongly recommend that you build your own email database (or e-list) rather than buying one from one of those list broking companies. The best way to start building your subscriber list, is to ask all your existing clients and contacts if you can have their email address!

Then, ask if you can contact them from time to time via email with a newsletter or special offers or announcements. This will get you your initial list and give you something to get started with.

The best way to gather email addresses is via your website or blog! You need to make it as easy as possible for people to give you their email details. I advise that you only ask for people to give you their email address and not their whole life story. Make sure you let people know you will never, ever pass on their email details to ANYONE!

Quality is key, so ONLY send people valuable information (like this top 10 guide) or a genuine special offer. I also recommend you only send one message every 7 to 14 days. That’s what I do with Jim's Marketing blog tips newsletter, because people hate being inundated with information; even if it’s great information! As a direct result, very few people ask to be removed from my subscriber list.

Finally, you must ask your readers to forward your emails on to their contacts. If the content is good enough, they will - but never assume anything, always ask them (nicely.)

I also recommend you learn and abide by the rules governing email marketing in your country.

3. Build a well-connected network

One of the biggest myths in business is that you must have a large network if you want to succeed. The reality is that the size of your network is not what’s important. It’s the influence of the people within your network that counts!

* IF MY NETWORK has 1000 people BUT they lack influence, it will have a commercial value of close to zero.
.
* IF YOUR NETWORK has just 30 people BUT they are motivated and have real influence, it will have a massive commercial value to you!

Stop wasting your time swapping business cards at those chamber of commerce-style networking events, (they really are a total waste of time!), and start deliberately targeting the 30 most influential people in your marketplace. That’s the kind of network you and your business need!

4. Internet marketing - start taking your website seriously

Most small businesses are unaware that they could receive stacks of high quality enquiries, leads, phone calls and sales from interested prospective clients; if only they had a professionally designed website that has been search engine optimised by a proven SEO expert.

When a website is professionally optimised, it’s like moving a little shop from an unused dirt road in the middle of nowhere and relocating it BANG IN THE MIDDLE of Oxford Street or 5th Avenue!

Something else you need to know

Almost everyone now uses the Internet to ‘check out’ a potential service provider; before deciding whether to do business with them or not! That includes the people YOU market your services to. So, what is your website ‘telling’ them about your business?

Your website is a unique part of you marketing in one really important respect: it alone has the power to either kill or to supercharge the response rates of all your OTHER marketing activities! So, if you send a mailshot for example, be aware that the people that were interested in what you offered will visit your website BEFORE deciding to contact you (or not!) This means the quality and content of your website has to encourage people to completely trust you and see you in a wholly professional light.

If your marketing hasn’t generated the response rates you hoped for, remember, the people who ‘were’ going to contact you visited your website first. What kind of message did it give them?

5. Match your fees to your promises!

You cannot promise the marketplace a high quality service and yet charge a bargain-basement fee! If you do, you will send people a mixed-message and it will lose you business every time.

Everyone knows that quality never comes cheap - that if something looks too good to be true, it is too good to be true! Make your services as valuable to the marketplace as possible and then charge accordingly.

6. Use ‘attraction marketing’ and not pursuit marketing

I am sure you will have noticed what happens whenever a beautiful woman or a handsome man walks into a crowded room or a bar? People look at them. In fact, some people will actually walk over to them and offer them a drink or strike up a conversation with them. The reason we call these kind of physically striking people ‘attractive‘ is that they literally attract the attention and also the interest of other people.

So, you might be wondering at this point, what this has to do with you and your marketing? The most successful businesses ALL use the same power of attraction I just highlighted, in order to attract sales, clients readers or customers! The most successfully marketed businesses gain the attention and interest of potential clients by making themselves attractive.

For example

I rely exclusively on the Power of attraction for 100% of my sales income! How? Simple! People find blog and newsletter ‘attractive‘, so they recommend and forward them to their contacts, their colleagues and their friends. This, in turn, helps me attract more people to my website, blog and newsletter. These new people then do the same etc, etc…

Without spending anything on ANY form of advertising, (pay-per-click, affiliate marketing or anything else), there are now millions of people who know all about my ability to help them produce great sales results.

So, whenever my readers decide that they want someone to help them make more sales, guess what? Yes, they give me a call or send me an email! I attract clients rather than pursue them, which is great because people HATE being chased or pursued. Spend a day doing cold-calling and you will learn very quickly just how much people HATE being pursued!

Most businesses get it the wrong way around. They choose to ‘pursue’ new clients and even though people are not responding to their letters, emails or calls; they just keep on grinding away regardless!

7. Do some competitor research

It’s impossible to effectively sell or market your services unless you have researched your competitors. You need to know what offers, guarantees, prices or fees you are selling against, in order to make YOUR offering the most attractive to potential clients.

In my experience, businesses often THINK that the service they offer to potential clients is superb, when in reality, it’s ‘very average’; when compared to what their competitors are offering. Find out what you’re up against and THEN BEAT IT by adding massive value!

8. Joint Ventures

Sometimes known as a J.V, a Joint Venture is where you and another business or person get together to (usually) cross-market your services. The key to Joint Venture success, is to find someone credible, who offers a non-conflicting product or service to the exact same profile of person or business as you do.

So, if you sell recruitment services to the hospitality industry and they sell employee benefits packages to the hospitality industry - BINGO! They can include one of your flyers or letters in one of their mailings and you can do the same for them; everybody wins. Avoid doing a Joint Venture with ANYONE who contacts you via email - unless you know them or can check them out. If in doubt - leave it!

9. Endorsed Relationships

An endorsed relationship is similar to a joint venture - BUT with one BIG and POWERFUL difference! The person you do the venture with actually gives you their professional or personal endorsement. This is marketing gold dust!

For example: Rather than just slipping one of YOUR marketing flyers in with one of THEIR client mailings (as they would in a Joint Venture), they actually write to their clients and give you their full endorsement.

An endorsed relationship is one of the most powerful marketing tools on the planet. I have seen endorsed mailshots and emails return a 90% positive response rate!

10. Don’t mistake movement for progress

I have worked with thousands of businesspeople and found something amazing! The owners of under performing businesses almost always work just as hard, and sometimes even harder, than the owners of successful ones! At first glance, this doesn’t seem to make sense - until you dig a little deeper and realise that the reason their hard work is getting them nowhere, is that they mistake MOVEMENT for PROGRESS.

In other words, they work hard and put in an insane number of hours, doing the wrong things! A well written advertisement, placed in the wrong section of the wrong publication will still fail - no matter how hard you work at it!

They think that the harder they work, the more successful they will be; as if rowing a boat with all your strength in the wrong direction, will still magically get you to the right destination!

If you find yourself working hard on your marketing and NOT getting the sales results you want, STOP! Make sure you are doing the right things, then ensure you are doing them correctly. If you are not already doing any of the above marketing activities - give them a go because we already know they work extremely well. That’s a great place to start!
Finally

Don’t just find these marketing tips interesting - use them! The best marketing idea in the world will not work unless you use it. Make sure you never miss a great marketing idea again, click the button below and subscribe to my marketing newsletter!

34 marketing tips and ideas

This is a great article was i found for blog marketing tips, a nice posting by jim's marketing blog. I think so nice republish it here. Read and you will get more advantage for your business.

I think that the title of this post says it all - so let’s get straight to the first marketing tip!

Marketing tip number 1:
When you send a marketing email to someone on a ‘list’ you bought or hired, they do not know who you are. Therefore, they are highly likely to consider your message as ‘spammy‘. Not only are they very unlikely to buy from you, they might start Twittering or telling their FaceBook / LinkedIn contacts that your company just spammed them!

Marketing tip number 2:
Learn to identify the difference between marketing activities you can do, and those you can do effectively. Anyone “can” write a marketing letter or email, but a specialist copywriter can get (literally) thousands of percent better response rates than a keen amateur.

Marketing tip number 3:
If you want your business to benefit from word of mouth publicity, it’s essential to give people something worth talking about!

Marketing tip number 4:
Give your clients a call from time to time, just to see how they are. Don’t even think of trying to sell them something, just engage them as a fellow human being.

Marketing tip number 5:
Become famous within your industry for how well you look after your customers. This kind of reputation is gold dust. Offering the best customer service means you will retain your existing clients for longer and find it far easier to win new customers too.

Marketing tip number 6:
Review your current marketing activities and immediately stop anything that is not working. Most small business owners have 2 or 3 forms of marketing, which they stick with primarily because they are “comfortable” with them.

Marketing tip number 7:
The most successful businesses don’t wait until things ‘slow down’ before they focus on marketing. Marketing is an ongoing function within all successful businesses.

Marketing tip number 8:
When was the last time your accountant or bank manager recommended a new client or customer to you? If it’s been a while, meet with them and ask them why. These people have “credible access” to thousands of contacts and could be a great source of new customers.

Marketing tip number 9:
Look outside your industry for marketing ideas and inspiration. When you simply replicate the marketing activities of your competitors, it’s harder and more expensive for your message to be seen / heard / read.

Marketing tip number 10:
Using a genuine, handwritten signature on your marketing letters can increase your positive response rates significantly. Though this can only realistically be used on smaller mailings, it is worth the extra effort.

Marketing tip number 11:
Invest in a book, audio program or training course, on how to handle inbound ‘phone calls more effectively. Even if it only improved your effectiveness by 15 or 20 percent, you could see a real increase in new business over the coming 6 months.

Marketing tip number 12:
Turn your website into a lead generating machine in two EASY steps. Firstly, get the site Search Engine Optimised, so stacks of targeted prospective clients can find you. Secondly, get your website copy written by an expert, so the people who find you are motivated to call you, visit your premises or email you. This is an extremely powerful and cost effective way to generate targeted business and enquiries.

Marketing tip number 13:
Keep copies of any marketing material, which motivated you to buy something or register for something. Then, see what you can learn and apply into your business.

Marketing tip number 14:
Your best ideas can come at any time, so make sure it’s always easy for you to capture them. I recommend you carry a small digital audio recorder. They cost very little and are a lot easier to use than a notepad; especially if you are out for a run at the time!

Marketing tip number 15:
Always look for ways to increase the value of your services. The more value you offer, the easier it is to win new clients and the harder it is for someone to tempt them away!

Marketing tip number 16:
Who is the most successful company or person in your industry right now? Find out and then see what you can learn from their success. A quick study of the least successful people in your industry can be equally valuable, by showing you what to avoid!

Marketing tip number 17:
Make sure your full contact details are visible on every email you send.

Marketing tip number 18:
Can you give at least one really good reason why someone should use your services, rather than any of your competitors? If not, it’s time to add a uniquely valuable dimension to your service. It’s easier, less expensive and the results come faster – when you market a uniquely valuable service, as opposed to an ‘average’ one.

Marketing tip number 19:
Before you take marketing advice from anyone, especially online, check out their background first. Much of the free marketing advice on the Internet is so poor that it could seriously damage a business.

Marketing tip number 20:
Testimonials can be extremely effective, but only if used correctly. Make sure that the testimonials you use in your marketing, are from people your prospective clients can identify with and that they compliment different elements of your services.

Marketing tip number 21:
What do prospective clients see, when they search for your name or your organisations name on Google? Over 95% of people now check a potential supplier out on a search engine, before deciding to use them or not.

Marketing tip number 22:
When writing a marketing message, focus it 100% on your most preferred prospective client type. Unfocused marketing messages do not compel, motivate or inspire people to respond. By trying to appeal to too wide a group of people, you fail to be directly relevant to anyone. Focus, focus, focus!

Marketing tip number 23:
Avoid using address labels on mail shots - it’s what many junk mail senders use. You will get a better response rate if you use window envelopes, with the name and address printed onto the letter; because more people will actually open the envelope.

Marketing tip number 24:
Never moan to your contacts about how bad business is, even when things are quiet. Bad news spreads fast and people avoid doing business with (and recommending) what they think might be a “sinking ship.”

Marketing tip number 25:
Avoid the use of buzzwords in your marketing or negotiations whenever possible.

Marketing tip number 26:
Other then your direct competitors, who already has a great relationship with your prospective clients? Their endorsement of you and your services is gold dust. Now, think of how to motivate them, so that they want to share how brilliant you are with their network. The results can be amazing.

Marketing tip number 27:
People hate being pestered or pursued. If you want to attract business, stop chasing it!

Marketing tip number 28:
I have never paid a penny for advertising, however, in the past 14 days, 3 of the best known companies in the world have asked me for marketing help or advice. This is purely because of my reputation and my online presence. What are you doing, to attract enquiries for free?

Marketing tip number 29:
Start a blog and post new material to it whenever you have something valuable you want to share. Blogs are either free or inexpensive, yet they can be excellent for developing your reputation as an expert and for communicating with people.

Marketing tip number 30:
Does your website have a contact form that people can use to get in touch? If so, make it as easy as possible for people to use, by asking for as little information as possible. Name & email address should be enough for someone to make an enquiry. Asking for their company name, phone, location etc just puts people off!

Marketing tip number 31:
Let your personality come through your business. People find it easier to connect with a business when it has a personality – than when a business feels cold or impersonal.

Marketing tip number 32:
When building your business network, size is far, far less important than quality. Don’t waste your time ‘connecting’ with people, who lack influence or reach. A network of 10, extremely well connected, influential people is USUALLY more than you will ever need! BTW: You won’t meet these people at a typical networking ‘club.’

Marketing tip number 33:
It’s far easier to sell something to an existing client than it is to sell something to a stranger. Find 3 new services, which are profitable for you to provide and which your clients really need – then offer them to your clients. This is probably the fastest way for you to generate a huge increase in turnover and profits.

5 Reasons To Develop A Sensible Comment Regime

By. Brick Marketing

Commenting on blogs has become popular within some sections of the blogging community. Others sections seem to steer clear of commenting for varying reasons. The five blogging tips may help some bloggers to rethink their strategies.

Leaving comments is one of the cheapest and fastest ways to develop a name for yourself. Comments are your opportunity to voice your opinion about the blog post you read, add something that was not covered in the post, and discuss the post with other readers.

Popularity:

Blog commenting is a great way to make your name recognizable by many other bloggers. As you gain in popularity your website gains as well.

Traffic to your website:

As people come to recognize you they will start to visit your site. This is particularly true if you have written a similar article and referenced it in the comment. Don’t spam by linking without the blog owner’s permission.

More comments on your blog:

As the traffic to your blog increases you may find the comments starting to increase. This will rely very much on the content you write. Obviously if you write posts that are boring you will find that no one wants to comment. Keep it interesting and fresh.

Improve relationship with the blog community:

By commenting on other blogs and writing material that draws comments, your relationship with the blogging community develops. This improved relationship leads to subscriptions to newsletters and further involvement with your site.

Backlinks:

Many blogs incorporate a do follow in the blog comments. This provides a valuable link back to your pages. More importantly, as you gain a reputation that is supported by quality content you will find others either quoting or referring to you in their posts, with links. The more back links you can gather, the better your search rankings will be. This of course leads to more traffic.

The key to commenting on other blogs is to develop a sensible regime. You don’t need to comment on every blog you read. Be selective with your comments. Leave comments that are on topic, help the reader clarify points or perhaps add new information. Quality and relevance are the most important aspects. Cheap Marketing Tactics to Kick Start your Blog

by Brick Marketing

When you first launch your blog it will most likely require some external marketing efforts to kick start some traffic your way. Remember that a blog is just a website so it will be important to treat it like a business in order to drive traffic and keep people reading.

Here are some ways to start generating some links to your blog so you can start creating some pathways for others to find you.

1. Directories: Yes directory submissions have been beaten into the ground quite a bit but they still add value. Out of the thousands of directories out there only a fraction of those require your presence. There are many older established directories like DMOZ that everyone should be in.

2. Blog Directories: Research all the various blog directories like Blogged.com and BlogCatalog.com and get your blog visible in those. Those blog directories are highly trafficked blogs with people looking for what your talking about.

3. Online PR: Write some press releases and distribute them online announcing the launch of your new blog. This can be done right through various free online PR distribution sites. Some actually allow you to have direct links embedded into the release helping you with your link building.

4. Social Profiles: Launch social profiles for your blog. If you start to develop traffic chances are you will build loyalty and social profiles will allow your loyal readers a place to meet and converse creating a business directory around your business.

5. Social Bookmarking: Tag your best or most popular posts into the social bookmarking websites like Mixx and Digg. This will allow them a bit further of a reach in order to start climbing in search results. Many times the link will start to float around in search results before the actual post will.

Main Point When you Started as an Internet Marketer

By Chris Tynski

For anyone who’s joined and had success in the Internet Marketing world, there are likely a great number of things you have learned over the years that allow you to be successful today.

This list is compiled from my own experience with Internet marketing, it consists of the top 5 lessons I’ve learned in 3 areas of Internet Marketing that I believe are essential to success.

These areas include:

1. Mentality/Frame of Mind
2. Business Direction and
3. Marketing Technique.

Lets we see all of that topic ;

MENTALITY / FRAME of MIND

1. Fake it till you make it.

When you start out with Internet Marketing, you WILL be overwhelmed. The breadth and depth of this field is staggering, and it’s changing every day. Don’t let this deter you. Trust that you will eventually “get it” , it will come together, and you will begin to see the big picture soon enough.

2. Focus and persistence on one thing leads to success, even if that one thing isn’t the best thing you could be doing.

One of the most common causes of failure in any particular Internet marketing venture is simply giving up too soon. Pick an idea and stick with it. Put your heart and soul into it, until you succeed, or are 100% sure it is no longer viable. Failure to follow through and/or constantly jumping from “brilliant” new idea to “brilliant” new idea is one of the biggest reasons people fail in Internet Marketing.

3. Let the hype get you excited, but realize that people lie, A LOT!

Perhaps a success story got you into this business. Images of huge checks from Google, people sitting on their computers on the beach, or images of people watching their bank accounts fill up. There are a great number of successful Internet marketers out there that are real, but 99% aren’t bragging about it. Let the hype get you excited, but don’t buy into anyone or anything that promises to make you rich without a considerable amount of time and effort.

4. If you’re not learning, you’re falling behind.

Massive success happens when you can identify an unexploited opportunity, and exploit it. The only way you will ever be able to identify real opportunity online is to have a broad scope of Internet Marketing, and to understand the working of the Internet as a whole. Get yourself involved in several forums, top notch blogs like Seomoz.org and MarketingPilgrim.com , stay abreast on as many aspects of Internet Marketing as you can, including black hat methods.

5. Building your business/brand is your goal, not hits, diggs, rss subscribers, or accolades.

It can be easy to pat yourself on the back when you see quantifiable goals reached. Getting visitors, diggs, rss subscribers, or accolades from your peers might feel great, but it’s really only of value to you if it helps to make you money or to build your business. Visitors do not always equal sales, Diggs do not always guarantee links, RSS subscriptions do not always equal an engaged community; Make sure you are thinking about your true goal.

BUSINESS DIRECTION

6. Ecommerce over affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing can be a great way to start when you first begin with Internet Marketing, but don’t be afraid to move beyond it. E-commerce can provide massively better ROI, if you put in the time to develop your business. Affiliate Marketing is the renting of the online world, where as E-commerce is purchasing a house. If you find a great niche, start your own e-commerce store instead of looking for an affiliate program, you’re profit margins will be 30-70% better, no joke. The reason most don’t do E-commerce, is because they think it is prohibitively difficult to set up. In reality, it is quite easy. There are many open source E-commerce platforms you can use for free, and you can hire a programmer to build you a custom site for a very reasonable price. Once you’ve built a site, find a dropshipper within your niche and start marketing. Not only will you make more money, but every ounce of work you put into your site will be adding value that can be sold later on.

7. Find and exploit niches yourself.

If people are talking about a niche being really great, chances are, its already too saturated. Do your own research and find your own niche. Take cues from the real world. Find things that sell well offline, and see if you can help bring them online.

8. Learn all the basics.

Before you attempt anything in Internet Marketing, learn all the basics. Until you have a firm grasp on the basics from each of the following, do not move forward:

* How search engines work
* Ranking Factors
* Basic HTML/CSS
* Basic Site-Side SEO
* Basic Link-Building Strategy
* Basic PPC understanding
* Confidence in your ability to pick out scams, and identify real opportunity/legit knowledge

9. Crowdsource and outsource everything you can.

Many of your competitors will not be outsourcing or crowdsourcing their work properly. Spend time learning this skill and it will reward you ten times over. Develop processes for every aspect of your business, and figure out ways you can hire people overseas to do them for you. You can find competent full time employees for 2$ an hour. I’m not joking.

10. Learn to program, or find someone who can, that you are willing to pay.

You will soon realize that without the ability to program, or without someone you can pay to program, you won’t be able to accomplish very many of your goals online. If this is not your forte, or if you have no desire to learn programming, get to work finding someone trustworthy and reliable.

MARKETING TECHNIQUES

11. Brainstorming before almost anything else.

Without a good idea, all the marketing dollars, social media connections, and mounds of traffic will be close to worthless for you. Spend the required time brainstorming ideas before implementing them. Linkbait and viral marketing will never succeed if the idea is not a good one, so focus your energy there first, then worry about promoting it.

12. Utilize all channels that make sense, but avoid meatball sundaes.

Twitter, facebook, myspace, youtube, digg, reddit, and every other possible marketing channel has value, but doesn’t necessarily have value to every marketer, or every marketing situation. Don’t try to force your business or project to utilize all of these technologies if they don’t seem to fit, it’s a waste of time.

13. Repurposing already successful content, unique ideas are not always necessary.

The Internet is huge, and there are thousands of great ideas out there that could be modified slightly, or simply done better. Find these ideas and make them your own.

14. Understand and try to build true virility when link building.

True virility comes when you create something that is shared faster than it is abandoned. Your goal should be to engage users in a way that encourages or even incentivizes sharing. When you reach that magical point where more people are sharing your idea than abandoning it, you will see the true power of the Internet.

15. Get a few Aces in your marketing pocket.

The best marketers online don’t do it alone, they have a few Aces in their back pockets. Sometimes these are tools or programs, sometimes they are people. Visit black hat forums often, see what the buzz is about. There is an underground most people don’t know about, try to infiltrate it.
